Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (176°C). Lightly grease a 9" x 9" (23 x 23 cm) baking pan with oil or butter.
  2. Add the salt, sugar, pepper, and Ranch dressing to the heavy whipping cream, then lightly stir to combine.
  3. Spread the potatoes in a single layer, followed by the chicken.
  4. Sprinkle the bacon and butter on top, then add half of the cheddar cheese and the scallions.
  5. Pour the heavy cream over the top of the casserole, cover it with aluminum foil, and bake for 1 hour.
  6. Uncover the pan and bake for an additional 30 minutes. In the last 10 minutes, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top and bake until the cheese is slightly crusty.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
