  1. In a small bowl mix the chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Rub the flank steak with the spices and place it in the bottom of the crock pot.
  3. Cover the steak with the onion, bell pepper, and jalapeno pepper. Set the slow cooker to LOW and cook for 8 hours.
  4. After 8 hours, remove the meat from the crock pot and shred it with a fork. It should be easy to shred. Either put the shredded meat back in the pot for another hour or serve it as is.
  5. To serve: heat your corn tortillas in a skillet on the stove. Spoon some carnitas on a tortilla then top with salsa, avocado, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.
