- Slice tempeh thinly, set aside.
- Mix all the wet ingredients for the coating. Pour a little water into the flour mixture first. Stir until smooth then add the remaining water. For tempeh chips, the coating mixture is not thick but tends to be runny.
- Grind all the ground spices, then mix them into the coating ingredients, stir well.
- Place the tempeh in the coating ingredients one by one, then fry immediately in hot oil until the entire surface is submerged. When dipping, use your hands, don't use a spoon to avoid lumps of flour.
- Fry over medium heat until golden brown, remove and set aside.
- Oven the fried tempeh chips at a low temperature of 100°C for 20 minutes, so that the tempeh chips remain crispy.
