Instructions

  1. Boil bamboo shoots until tender, cut and wash thoroughly.
  2. Heat oil, saute shallots until wilted. Add ground spices, green chilies and bay leaves, saute until fragrant.
  3. Add the bamboo shoot pieces. Stir until the bamboo shoots are evenly coated with spices.
  4. Add water, salt, sugar and chicken stock powder. Then, cover the pan and cook until the water reduces.
  5. Check the taste, if it's right, lift and serve.
  6. 1. Make sure the bamboo shoots used are still fresh and do not have a sour smell. 2. If the bamboo shoots smell, wash them clean then boil them with lime leaves to remove the unpleasant aroma.
