  3. Whisk together 1 cup cornmeal, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt in another large mixing bowl. Add the wet ingredients to the bowl and stir until combined. The batter will be lumpy.
  4. Pour the mixture into your prepared 8x8-inch pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Insert a toothpick, and when it comes out clean, it's ready.
