Resep Kue Keranjang

This traditional Owi Kue Keranjang recipe uses glutinous rice and steamed caramel for 20 hours, which is why many people prefer to buy the finished product rather than making it themselves.

Instructions

  1. Take half of the granulated sugar, cook over low heat until it becomes caramel.
  2. Once it becomes caramel, add half the water gradually while continuing to stir (be careful and slow because the caramel will splash). Cook until the caramel dissolves.
  3. After the caramel has dissolved, add the pandan leaves, remaining granulated sugar and water, cook until it boils. Turn off the heat, let it cool.
  4. Once cold, pour the caramel water into the sticky rice flour, a little at a time, stirring thoroughly until there are no lumps. The dough can be filtered to make it smoother.
  5. Heat the banana leaves on the stove until they soften, then line the base and edges of the baking dish with banana leaves. The baking dish has a diameter of 10 cm. If you don't have a small baking pan, you can use a small basket.
  6. Pour the basket cake mixture into the pan until it is half the height of the pan.
  7. Steam the mixture for 2 hours until cooked. Ready to be served.
